The iPhone has reached a legendary status in today’s modern world, and this is because of the features that no other phones can offer. It is only right to say that most phones nowadays are patterned after the iPhone, which makes it a benchmark for today’s devices.
Other mobile phones with touch screens boost a large screen display, in an obvious attempt to rival iPhone’s display. Aside from Samsung, other mobile devices that copied the external features of the iPhone is HTC Sensation and Sony Ericsson. The recently launched iPhone 4S could be the best iPhone Apple has released over the years. Although it looks the same as the old iPhone 4, its internal consists of a dual antenna that helped improve the reception problems experienced by the old phone. What consumers like most about it is that it operates with a dual core processor; the camera is upgraded to 8 megapixel which can do full HD video recording; works on the latest iOS 5; comes with the iCloud and Siri, which is a computer generated assistant; and a whole lot more that other smart phones cannot offer.

Rumors have been piling up lately pointing to Apple releasing its next-generation iPhone sometime this September. With that rapidly approaching, manufacturers of iPhone accessories need to start getting their product lines together, so they’re ready when the smartphone launches. Luckily for us, that means the chance to get a peek at a case or two, giving us some clues about the new iPhone’s construction.
A pair of case designs, purporting to be for the iPhone 5, have leaked, showing off a return to earlier iPhone styling. If these accurately reflect Apple’s new design, we’re looking at eschewing the iPhone 4′s flat back in favor of a curved surface. Full post…

When Apple and AT&T released the iPhone in 2007, they offered it without a carrier subsidy. That is, you had to pay the full retail price for the phone, which is something that we don’t normally see. Usually carriers offer a heavily discounted handset and get you to sign a two-year agreement in exchange. Without a subsidy, though, it appeared there was no incentive to sign a contract. At that point AT&T had a very popular $20 unlimited prepaid data plan, and there was a way to exploit the iTunes activation process. Things changed in time, though, and eventually AT&T decided to nix the iPhone on prepaid completely (though there were still ways around it). A
